 What is December People you ask? Well - - -
Something Classic, Something new, Something familiar - yet totally original
One part Tribute band - One part radio sensation- One part traditional Holiday music- and one part just plain fun.
This high powered quintet made up of some of the finest musicians from some of the worlds biggest bands provide 'Industrial strength' Rock and Roll for the Holidays.
The music and the vocals are superb.
DP plays familiar Holiday songs in the styles of the top bands of our time like Santana The Who, Led Zepplin, Sting, ZZ Top, Boston, U2, ELP, Queen and Peter Gabriel just to name a few.
The group consists of five top players from well known bands.
Group leader, Robert Berry, came up with the concept for December People and is the lead vocalist and bass player. His credits include playing in many major bands. He had a number 9 hit with his band "3" with Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer of ELP fame. Robert sang for the band Ambrosia, played bass in the Sammy Hagar band and was also in the band GTR with Steve Howe of Yes. He is presently the bass player for the Greg Kihn Band.
Gary Pihl , guitar vocals for December People, has been a member of the band Boston since 1985. Before Boston Gary was the guitar player in the Sammy Hagar Band and played on many hit records with Sammy. Previous to Sammy Hagar Gary worked with Norman Greenbaum of Spirit in the Sky fame. Gary adds his undeniable rock edge to the December People sound.
Mike Vanderhule is DP's drummer and percussionist. Mike has played in professional bands for years and is currently the drummer for the hard rockin' Y & T. Solid as a rock Mike is the backbone that brings these great songs alive.
Jack Foster is guitar #2 for December People. Jack is an internationally known solo artist with 3 albums out in Europe and Japan on the Musea label. Jack is an accomplished singer/songwriter and his skills in vocal harmony and his technical guitar ability are important to the DP sound
Dave Medd is currently the keyboard player for the Tubes. Dave adds the high lead vocals to December People and some considerably challenging harmony parts to the mix. He has also toured with Quicksilver Messenger Service and Alliance. The keyboards are challenging in the DP music and Dave pulls it off with power and dexterity.
